Who We Are

Friends in Toronto Community Services (FITCS) is a community-based organization committed to restorative justice, anti-racism, and economic empowerment. For over two decades, we have supported Indigenous and racialized youth and families navigating systemic barriers, trauma, and justice involvement.

Our culturally grounded approach recognizes that healing is not one-size-fits-all. Through healing circles, mentorship, leadership development, and small business support, we meet people where they are and walk with them toward where they want to go.

FITCS was founded on the principle that communities must play an active role in resolving conflict, restoring relationships, and supporting youth to make positive life decisions. Our programs emphasize accountability, empathy, and healing while addressing social factors that contribute to violence and marginalization.

What We Focus On

  • Anti-Racism

Indigenous and racialized youth are disproportionately impacted by systems of violence, incarceration, and exclusion. At FITCS, we prioritize the voices and experiences of racialized communities in all that we do.

  • Access to Restorative Justice

FITCS expands access to restorative practices such as circles, dialogue, and community-led accountability as alternatives to punitive systems that perpetuate harm.

  • Economic & Community Development

True justice includes economic justice. FITCS supports opportunities that strengthen communities and holds firm to the belief that self-determination is a fundamental right.
